about

The new record by Dinmachine 2.0 is a departure for Dinmachine. Slimmed down from six members to two, songs focus on synthesizers and electronic percussion with heavy bass and processed drums. Some of the sounds are pure "texture" and melodies are often in the bass register. Compositions are extremely compact and full of abrupt, unexpected transitions.

Dinmachine 2.0 is Michael Schumacher on synths and Alex Goldberg on drums. Dinmachine's music is composed by Michael Schumacher, a Julliard grad best known for computer-based multi-channel sound installations (Sound Art). Schumacher has won numerous awards and grants and released albums on avant-garde labels such as XI, Sedimental and Entr'acte with a new release on Contour Editions this Fall. His 2004 album "Room Pieces XI" was rated "Best of Classical" by Wire Magazine. Alex Goldberg (L'rain, Throw Vision, Glockabelle) studied percussion with Frank Cassara and composition with Harold Meltzer while studying Cognitive Science at Vassar College.

The band's 3rd record releases in 2018 with a stripped down approach focussed on drums and analog synthesizers. ... more
